Crane construction

Mobile cranes are indispensable helpers in the construction industry and in heavy haulage. They can be moved quickly to different locations. Telescopic booms are used to reach great working heights quickly and easily.

Tower cranes are used in building construction.

Gantry and slewing jib cranes are used in goods handling and storage areas, shipyards and assembly halls.

High-strength steels are used in crane construction in order to reduce operating costs due to the low weight and to increase the load capacity. Superstructures, undercarriages and masts are largely made of these material grades.

UnionStahl Nord is prepared for these requirements and is able to supply high-strength steels in accordance with EN 10025-6 and EN 10149-2 from stock in large quantities.

We can meet your requirements for structural steels in S235JR+N and S355J2+N for counterweights, upper and lower chords and side plates up to a plate length of 16,000 mm.

We also supply components for hoists and load handling equipment (e.g. C-hooks).
