Longitudinally welded tubes made of metal plate are used in a wide variety of applications.
Oil, gas and chemical industries
The finished pipes are installed in refineries, desalination plants, gas purification plants – to name a few applications. Another focus is pipes for transporting media, or pipe sections used as container shells.
UnionStahl has adapted its stock to cater for the various applications and material requirements for:
- heat resistant steels compliant with EN 10028-2/3 and ASTM/ASME
- Plate compliant with ISO 3183.
Pipes are used in the foundations of offshore wind turbines (jacket constructions, monopiles and transition pieces) and in the construction of platforms for oil and gas extraction.
The processed steels must withstand low temperatures.
In order to be a reliable partner to our customers, we stock plate compliant with EN 10225 and NORSOK.
Power plant construction
One of the greatest goals today is to reduce emissions. The energy production industry is trying to achieve this by optimising the materials and technologies used, as well as by increasing the efficiency of the plants.
As a reliable supplier, UnionStahl is able to support the implementation of your projects:
- We stock steels compliant with DIN EN, ASTM, ASME and API, able to withstand the requirements of heat resistance and high pressures
- We deliver according to individual customer specifications
- We consider any recurring requirements in the plate orders for our warehouse.
Construction industry / construction pipes
Pipes are used in the construction of bridges, stadiums or buildings for static and decorative purposes. UnionStahl is a reliable partner for the supply of construction steels with lengths up to 16,000 mm, 3.2 certification, compliant with DBS 918002-2 and notch impact tests at -40 °C.
The main applications of pipes are for cranes, rollers and paper machine construction. The materials used include S235, S355 and S690.
